The Newsletter is generally divided into three sections: (i) Correspondence and news, (ii) Articles, and (iii) Meeting and trip reports. It is not necessary to format the text to look like the Newsletter as this formatting is applied during production. If the submission has multi-level headings, it is helpful to ensure these are clearly indicated. Illustrations (photos, drawings etc) should NOT pasted into the Word file. Instead, please email the illustrations separately, and these will be inserted during production of the Newsletter. For optimum quality, photographs should be at least 150 ppi and 8 cm wide for single column, 17 cm wide for full page, and line drawings ideally at least 300 ppi. The Editor can rescale images to fit, so it is generally best to send original image files. If the files are too large to email, contact the Editor (email) who will advise a file upload URL. Please include Figure captions at the end of the text of the submission, or alternatively make the caption the file name of the graphic file itself. If no photo credit is given, it will be assumed that the image was produced by the submitting author. All submissions are received on the assumption that they have not been submitted for publication elsewhere, and that publication in the Newsletter will not breach copyright of another publication. |
